The GRIMM designer surface-mounted letterbox combines modern design, precise workmanship and high-quality materials - ideal for building owners and architects who are looking for an elegant and durable solution for integrating a Comelit video door intercom system. At the centre of this system is the Comelit Ultra video door intercom, available in two modern connection variants - 2-wire technology and ViP (IP technology). The Comelit Ultra enables live video transmission, intercom function and mobile control via the Comelit app. This means you can see and speak to visitors at your front door at any time - whether you are at home or on the move - and open the door or gate if you wish. The GRIMM® letterbox is not only an aesthetic highlight, but also impresses in terms of functionality and ease of use. The innovative push-key lock enables simple, one-handed operation: the door opens with a push and can be locked without a key - conveniently and protected from the weather. The post removal door at the front opens from top to bottom so that the post remains securely in the box and cannot fall out. The front mail slot is rounded off by high-quality axle dampers, which ensure that the flap closes particularly quietly and gently.
The double box system is particularly practical: the powder-coated stainless steel surface-mounted body is installed during the construction phase, while the design panel is only fitted once the work has been completed. This offset front panel not only offers optimum weather protection, but also enables clean, dirt-free final installation.
Thanks to DIN/EN 13724, the GRIMM is suitable for large letters in C4 format, which can be inserted without creasing. The GRIMM letterbox therefore combines durable quality, modern technology and sophisticated functionality in one product.

Important information:
To achieve optimum water protection for your mail, the letterbox or letterbox system should be located under a canopy if possible.
The mail is only protected from water if it is fully inserted in the box and the flap is closed. Mail that is not fully inserted allows moisture and dirt to enter the letterbox. This system is protected against the ingress of water in accordance with DIN EN 13724. Water ingress is not a reason for complaint.

2-wire technology - ideal for refurbishment and retrofitting
The 2-wire systems from COMELIT are simply connected via existing lines. This means that existing doorbell or intercom lines can continue to be used - without additional costs for laying new lines, plastering or painting work. Only two wires run from the power supply unit (power supply unit 1209 included) in the meter cupboard to the built-in loudspeaker or video loudspeaker in the function box of the letterbox system and two wires from the power supply unit to the home station in the flat or to the gateway in the distribution box. Allthat is required for the WiFi function of the home station is a WLAN within range. The gateway 1406A is connected to the Internet via the Ethernet port.

As an alternative to 2-wire technology, COMELIT offers ViP (Video over IP) technology, a modern, fully digital system based on Ethernet. This type of connection is ideal for new buildings, complex building structures or when seamless integration into existing network or building control systems is required.
All functions - from door communication and video surveillance to remote control - can be managed easily and securely via the local network or the Internet. Thanks to PoE (Power over Ethernet), a single network cable is sufficient for data transmission and power supply. The ViP systems are scalable, support a wide range of end devices and can be controlled with the COMELIT app via the smart gateway or the Wifi door station.

The COMELIT app functions
With the Comelit app, you can enjoy maximum convenience and flexibility in door communication. You can receive calls from the video door station anywhere - at home, in the garden, on the move or at work. The app connects your door intercom to your smartphone or tablet and enables intuitive, secure control of your entrance area.
The most important functions
- Receive calls anywhere: Receive visitor calls from your video door station - wherever you are.
- Internal communication: Make calls between the indoor stations connected to the system - just like with an intercom system.
- Video recordings: Missed calls are automatically recorded as video. You can also view live images from the cameras in your system.
- Access control: Open gates or doors directly via the app - conveniently with a tap, voice command or facial recognition.
- Automation: Activate automatic access functions to allow registered persons access - for example, by facial recognition at the door station.
- Energy efficiency through push notifications: The app is only activated when there is an incoming call. This significantly reduces battery and data consumption.
The Comelit app is available for both iOS and Android and is compatible with all current Comelit video door intercom systems.

Briefkasten Manufaktur only uses systems, components and individual parts from well-known manufacturers in Germany. But our customer service doesn't end with your order: After your order, you may receive a construction drawing by email as a PDF to realise your wishes down to the last detail. Your wishes will be considered in detail and even special requests that go beyond our configuration offer can be realised. After your production approval, your letterbox is customised and conveniently delivered by parcel post. Our customer service does not end here either, we ensure that the stainless steel letterboxes, letterbox systems, doorbells and lights are delivered to you in perfect condition with customised packaging.
And if you don't like a product you have purchased or something is not to your liking, as a consumer you run no risk with us. You can return our products within two weeks.

Individual components are already prefabricated so that very short delivery times can be achieved in some cases.
