Wallboxes - efficient charging technology for your electric car

Our wallboxes for electric cars are consistently designed for use in private homes. They combine reliable charging technology with high-quality materials and a clear design standard - suitable for modern residential buildings, sophisticated façades and holistically planned entrance areas. The focus is on safety, durability and harmonious integration into the architecture.

The wallboxes from Briefkasten Manufaktur are designed for stationary indoor and outdoor use. Robust housings, weather-resistant surfaces and precise workmanship ensure long-term reliable operation - even in changing weather conditions. Materials such as stainless steel or coated metals guarantee corrosion protection, stability and a timeless look.

Design-orientated integration into the building

A key feature of our wallboxes is their architectural integration. Instead of a purely technical appearance, clear forms, reduced lines and harmonious proportions take centre stage. The wallbox is therefore not perceived as a foreign body, but as a design element of the façade.

In terms of colour and design, our wallboxes can be deliberately matched to other elements - such as letterbox systems, exterior lights or doorbell modules. This uniformity creates a calm overall appearance and emphasises the high-quality character of the entrance and access area.

Sensible combination with letterbox and outdoor light

Especially in private residential buildings, it is advisable to plan the wallbox together with the letterbox and outdoor light. If all components are selected from a single line, the material, colour and design are precisely coordinated. The result is a clearly structured, functional and visually consistent outdoor area - without any stylistic inconsistencies or subsequent compromises.

For private households with high standards

Our wallboxes are aimed at owners who want to integrate electric mobility into their everyday life in a sustainable and high-quality way. They offer a reliable charging infrastructure, support modern energy concepts and fit seamlessly into sophisticated architecture. In this category, discover wallboxes for electric cars that combine technology, design and craftsmanship - for a sustainable, convenient and visually appealing charging solution in your own home.

Questions about the charging process and electromobility

The charging time essentially depends on the battery capacity (SOC) of the electric car and the charging power of the charging station.

Charging does not depend on direct current or alternating current charging, but only on the charging power in relation to the battery capacity of the electric car. If the charging power is less than or half the battery capacity, charging is assumed to be slow. Example: Battery capacity 44kWh and charging power up to max. 22kW (physically not quite correctly expressed here).

With slow charging, the time required for a full charge from 0% to 100% SOC can be approximated with the following formula:

Battery capacity in [kWh] / (charging power in [kW] * efficiency 0.9) = charging time in [h].

For simplification, a charger efficiency of 90% (= 0.9) is assumed. Depending on the vehicle model and charging power, the efficiency can be between 80% and 95%. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
The charging process can be stopped at any time.
The choice of charging station depends on both the charging capacity of the vehicle and the available power connection. The available charging capacity of your house connection can be obtained from the energy supplier or electrician. The maximum AC charging capacity can be found in the operating instructions of your vehicle.
The BC1X and BC2 are eligible in many countries. Feel free to ask us about it.
A charging station must not be installed by a do-it-yourselfer. A specialist company with the appropriate expertise must be commissioned to install the charging station. As a high-voltage connection is required, the installation and connection of the charging station may only be carried out by a specialist company that is registered in the installer directory of a grid operator (see §13 Low Voltage Connection Ordinance).
In principle, an electric car can be charged at a household socket. However, these supply lines are generally not designed for a high continuous load. Charging at a household socket with an appropriate adapter should therefore only be done in an emergency!

Foundation requirements

The foundation must meet the following requirements:

Concrete: C25/30 XF1 XC2
Rebar: BST 500 S wire & slash; 10 mm

Foundation reinforcement plan

The reinforcement plan is shown in the following figures. In particular, ensure that the foundation is sufficiently level:

Ladesäulen Plug / Draw

Ladesäule Close

The required power connection initially depends on the desired charging capacity of the charging station. For charging capacities of 11 to 22 kW, a three-phase connection with 400 volts is required. The conductor cross-section for the supply line must be at least 6 mm². For detailed instructions on the installation and programming of the BMLsystems BASIC Charge charging controls, please refer to the enclosed "Installation and Configuration Instructions BMLsystems BASIC Charge".
After the charging cable has been plugged into the car and the charging station, the charging process starts on the BC1 without authorisation, here access is via the access door. For the BC1X & BC2, authorisation is via the key switch.
The charging process is terminated by the vehicle in the case of the BC1. The BC1X & BC2 terminate the charging process by the vehicle or the key switch.
Charging stations up to and including 11 kW are subject to registration, i.e. you inform the local grid operator that a charging station has been installed at your location. Charging stations above 11 kW are subject to approval, i.e. the charging station must be applied for from the electricity grid operator before installation. After receiving feedback from the grid operator and, if necessary, extension of the house connection, the charging station can be installed. Ask your specialist company about this.
The charging cable is locked on both sides during the charging process and afterwards and is only released after the vehicle or the key switch has ended the charging process.
Yes, in the event of a power failure, the charging station lock releases the plug. The cable on the vehicle remains locked.
All vehicles can be charged that have the IEC 62196 Type 2 charging socket commonly used in Europe.
A MODBUS/TCP IP interface is available in the BC1X and BC2. This can be used for connection to your Smart Home.
