The BASIC 385A surface-mounted mailbox system for 3 units is a robust wall solution for apartment buildings, smaller residential complexes as well as office and medical practice properties. The vertically organised S-configuration reduces horizontal space requirements and uses the available wall height particularly efficiently.
The mailboxes are made of galvanised steel and are powder-coated in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey fine-textured matt. The close-fitting cladding with rain canopy unifies the individual compartments into a closed, modern surface-mounted system.
Each compartment measures 300 × 110 × 385 mm (W × H × D) and offers approx. 12 litres of volume. The 35 × 265 mm letter opening is designed for DIN C4 items in portrait format. The doors open from left to right; each mailbox is supplied with two keys with key number and one interchangeable nameplate beneath the letter flap.
The rain canopy and side panels combine the individual mail compartments into a closed surface-mounted system. The coordinated cladding provides a calm front and a neat finish at the facade.
The 300 × 110 × 385 mm (W × H × D) compartments each offer approx. 12 litres of volume. The 35 × 265 mm letter opening also accepts larger DIN C4 items in portrait format.
The rubber lip cushions the letter flap. Robust locks, two keys with key number and protected interchangeable nameplates ensure clear allocation of the individual compartments.
The surface-mounted system is designed for direct facade mounting. A mounting rail facilitates installation; fixings including screws and wall plugs are included in the described configuration.
The anthracite grey fine-textured finish gives the system a modern appearance and protects the galvanised steel for daily use on the building. The system is manufactured in Germany at the Briefkasten Manufaktur.
The wall must be even and sufficiently load-bearing. The supplied screws and wall plugs should only be used if they are suitable for the existing wall structure; for other substrates or external thermal insulation composite systems, suitable fixing solutions must be determined on site.
Mail is best protected from moisture and dirt only when items are fully inserted and the letter flap is closed. Protruding letters or magazines can prevent the flap from closing completely.

The Briefkasten Manufaktur has been family-run since 2003. A large proportion of our products are made by hand in Bad Salzuflen, supported by modern manufacturing technology. This keeps planning, production and contact persons close together – from the first product comparison to spare parts or a later extension.
Manufacturing includes, among other processes, laser cutting, bending, welding, laser marking, powder coating and assembly. What matters most for you are the short lines of communication: enquiries about dimensions, construction, labelling or technical integration can be addressed directly with the product expertise from development and production.
Especially for mailbox systems, special dimensions and access systems, proper planning helps to avoid later compromises in installation, appearance and operation.
Many of our mailboxes and mailbox systems can be configured in numerous RAL colours. Depending on the product range, different dimensions, numbers of boxes, labelling, house numbers, newspaper compartments as well as doorbell and door communication modules are also possible.
Which options are available depends on the respective product. For requirements beyond the offered configurations, we assess bespoke requests on a project basis.

Yes. Depending on the model, BASIC offers systems for a small or large number of units and is therefore especially suitable for apartment blocks, rental properties and multi‑occupancy buildings. The decisive factors are the required number of boxes, the mail volume and the available installation space.
The BASIC product family includes, depending on the model, surface-mounted, recessed (in-wall), freestanding, through-wall and fence solutions. This allows the mailbox system to be planned for wall, property boundary or building envelope according to the installation situation.
Depending on the BASIC model, powder-coated galvanised steel, stainless steel and various RAL colours are available. Box dimensions and volumes also differ. Therefore, when choosing, always check the specific compartment size and the expected mail volume in addition to the appearance.
In selected BASIC variants, doorbell and light buttons, intercom stations, camera preparations, parcel compartments, newspaper shelves or other functional modules are possible. Which technology can be integrated or prepared depends on the respective model.

Depending on the product, classic mailbox locks and selected digital solutions are available. For many typical wear and replacement parts such as locks or nameplates there are suitable spare parts; Briefkasten Manufaktur specifies a ten-year spare parts supply for its products.
